Two to face polls offences charges

PUTRAJAYA, May 13 — Two individuals will be charged in the Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for offences committed during the 13th general election.

Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) prosecution head Abdul Wahab Mohamed said one of them would be charged in Sibu, Sarawak for voluntarily causing hurt to a senior citizen and giving false information in a police report.

The other person would be charged in Johor Baru under the Minor Offences Act 1955 for draping a political party banner over the fence of a house in Iskandar Malaysia without the permission of Iskandar Development authorities, he said.

“Between 2pm on May 10 to 2pm today, 11 of 19 cases had been referred back to the police for further investigation,” he said in a media conference at the AGC today. — Bernama
