Muhyiddin: Malaysia needs government capable of fostering transformation

TAMPIN, July 17 — The ever-changing demands of the people need a government that is capable of bringing about transformation and introducing various programmes, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

He said Malaysians wanted to see who is capable of making their dreams come true and the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, under the leadership of

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, was trying its level best to fulfil the needs and demands of the people.

“The people’s mindset has also changed. They want a life that is better, good, beautiful and perfect. If not for the BN government, they may not live to enjoy that,” he said at the Leader-Meets-People programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Indah here today.

Present were his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, Negeri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Tampin Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Shaziman Abu Mansor, who is also Works Minister.

Muhyiddin (picture) said all things done under the national transformation programme were meant for the better future of the people and the country.

“Only the BN government has detailed planning, be it in education, economic, health, infrastructure, public transportation and cost of living. It is all done seriously,” he said in front of over 5,000 people at the event.

Muhyiddin said Malaysians also wanted more room to practise freedom of speech through a fresh democratic system.

Hence, the government had also facilitated political transformation and abolished several laws that were no longer suitable, like the Internal Security Act.

The deputy prime minister said everything done by the BN government is well accepted by Malaysian and that they are now able to live happily without worries.

At the event, Muhyiddin also approved an allocation of RM2 million to implement various projects in Tampin parliamentary constituency. — Bernama
